Scooby doo is back with another of his fun filled adventures this time in a video game. It was originally created by THQ, Artificial mind and movement and Warner Bros. This time the Mystery Machine gang is back on some case, though this time it is a little different than the usual. This is not just any mystery of the supernatural, not just some evil character dressed up in a ghoul costume. This time a mysterious villain has used a book of magic called Tome of Doom, which has released a scary and terrifying army of ghosts, zombies and many monsters. It is up to Scooby and Shaggy to trap the monsters and seal them back into the pages of the book. The whole gang teams up for their help, Fred, Velma, Daphne on a chase which will lead them to the monsters and seal them back.

The game play and the rules are very basic in order to play the game. There are 3 main objectives to clear the levels. Seal all the monsters in the book, find all of the five clues and complete the mission with all its objectives. In between the game, you get some sandwich ingredients which you have to collect in order to unlock a special mini game. There are 5 indegrients present every level, bringing it to one mini game for every level. When the level ends, you have to fight the main boss.

In order to capture the monsters and ghosts into the Tome of doom, the must be facing the front of the book. When this happens, they will start getting sucked into the book, though you need to tap the right button so that they are sealed in the book for ever.

Another awesome part of the game play is the cool meter. Whenever some monster tries to scare Shaggy and Scooby, the cool meter starts to drain. When the cool meter gets fully drained, the next time they come face to face with some monster, they will run back to the last checkpoint where you recently saved the game. In order to refill the cool meter, you need to find some Scooby Snacks, one of the favorites of both Scooby and Shaggy.

Another feature of the game is the radar. The yellow spots represent the place where Scooby and Shaggy are, and the red dots represent the monsters and other enemies.

In order to get past the enemies, you need to find the costumes. A total of 6 of them are found in the game play. There are ghost costumes, astronaut costumes, mummy costumes, cowboy costumes, and security guard and scientist costumes. The switches are present which can be turned on and off to move the ladders and unlock the doors. The keys which are found unlock certain doors, not all though and are unavailable after use.
